Wooden Vallila neighborhood
A unique neighborhood with its wooden houses
Vallila is a mostly residential neighborhood famous for its wooden houses built in the 1910's and 1920's for the cities working classes. Now, the neighborhood is becoming a trendy place for locals and small businesses. Walk in the neighborhood saved by locals, visit Vallila library - one of architect Juha Leiviskä's wooden masterpieces from 80's, and see a mural by Guido van Helten.

A really nice neighborhood to walk around. I have also lived along Mäkelänkatu both in 2008-2009 and in 2015-2017 and I really liked living next to the wooden Vallila.
