Greetings from Liisa, the founder of Day With A Local. I have offered Day With A Local in Helsinki for families, groups of friends, as well as groups of business associates since 2015.

In summer 2026 you can choose from three different options:

  • Welcome to Helsinki introduction tour and Lunch With Liisa (2-3 hours)
  • Welcome to Helsinki introduction tour and Dinner With Liisa (2-5 hours)
  • Day With Liisa (max 8 hours)

In 2026 I offer Welcome to Helsinki introduction tour combined with Lunch With A Local or Dinner With A Local. We can enjoy casual or fine dining in a venue according to your preferences.

I am happy to host you in one of my favorite restaurants. You can choose from many options: traditional Finnish, casual 'loved by locals' dining, fine dining or Michelin star dining. Note: Price point in lunch or dinner in Helsinki can vary starting from around 15 euros/person to 250 euros/person + drinks and everything in between, according to your choice of restaurant.

Welcome to Helsinki introduction tour and Lunch With Liisa (2-3 hours)

Starting from 185 € (groups of 1 to 4 people). my fee is including

  • all pre-planning needed (e-mails, WhatsApp messages and/or video call),
  • meeting at your desired location,
  • Welcome to Helsinki introduction tour (1-1.5 hours),
  • lunch company and
  • WhatsApp support throughout your stay in Helsinki/Finland (up to 2 weeks).

  • dinner company and
  • WhatsApp support throughout your stay in Helsinki/Finland (up to 2 weeks).

Day With A Local goes Day with Liisa in Helsinki in summer 2026

Are you looking for someone to show you around during your one day visit in Helsinki on a Baltic Sea cruise, during your stopover at Helsinki airport or in the beginning of your vacation or business trip? I do offer limited Day With A Local availability so make sure to book your day in advance!

I will create you a program suggesting my personal favorites of the city, such as a visit to Oodi, food sample at a local market hall and - if possible, visit to the Rock Church (however not during the rush hour), yet I am more than ready to make any alterations according to your wishes. We can meet at the airport, at your hotel lobby or any other desired starting point. You can add private transfers, public transportation etc. in your order according to your individual preferences.

The time of the year, weather and events will be taken into consideration when planning your Day With A Local, in order to create the best possible experience in Helsinki - whether it is a breezy winter day, a grey day in the autumn or Finland at its best (or sometimes worst!) on a summer day - for you, your family, group of friends or business partners.

Day With A Local is a combination of Helsinki highlights and local lifestyle. We will go at your pace, according to your wishes. This is not a regular guided tour but a conversational way to get to know Helsinki, get to know Finland, culture, history and habits.

When you choose my service, it is not only about the day we spend together but I am happy to help you also with any pre-planning of your trip as well as your program throughout your stay.

I founded Day With A Local in 2015. In 2026 I am returning to where it started from over 10 years ago - meeting people in the city that I love.

Public holidays and special occasions (such as 30th April, 1st May, Midsummer Eve, Midsummer Day, Finnish Independence Day 6th December, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day): 695 €/1-4 guests | 795 €/5-8 guests | 895 €/9-10 guests

The prices above are valid when the booking is paid within 72 hours from time of booking. For payment after that, there will be 50 to 100 euros added.
