Kallio neighborhood
Kallio is a neighborhood loved by locals, only a short tram ride away from Helsinki city center.
First it was known as a residential area for the working population from the early 20th century until 1960s-1970s. Today, it is a hip neighborhood of students, young adults and artists. It is also known as an especially LGTBQ+ friendly neighborhood of Helsinki.
Kallio is full of events, cafés, bars and restaurants. Kallio Church and the cozy Kallio library are a couple of landmarks of the area. Don't miss Hakasalmi Market Hall nearby Kallio neighborhood. In the summertime, head to Linnanmäki Amusement Park in Alppila, next to Kallio!
