Kallio neighborhood

Kallio is a neighborhood loved by locals, only a short tram ride away from Helsinki city center. First it was known as a residential area for the working population from the early 20th century until 1960s-1970s. Today, it is a hip neighborhood of students, young adults and artists. It is also known as an especially LGTB friendly neighborhood of Helsinki. Kallio is full of events, cafés, bars and restaurants. Kallio Church and the cozy Kallio library are a couple of landmarks of the area.
